The Gotsuk Monastery (also spelled Gossul) is located on a cliff prominence which is reached by foot trails from the lake. Bönpo pilgrims who come to this monastery usually stay in a grotto at the bottom of the cliff. In front of the main entrance is a courtyard, and in the rear is a large chapel with recently made statues of Thuje Chenpo (Thousand armed Chenresi). Behind the altar of the chapel, a hidden entrance leads to an inner meditation cave consecrated to Gombo Sedhup. Pilgrims from India usually begin their circuit around the lake from this monastery.
