Prajnaruchi
[般若流支] (n.d.) (Skt; Jpn Hannyarushi)
A monk from southern India who was active in China as a translator in the sixth century. Born to a Brahman family, in 516 he went to Lo-yang in China. From 538 through 543 he translated Buddhist scriptures into Chinese at Chin-hua-ssu and Ch'ang-ting-ssu temples in Yeh, the capital of the Eastern Wei dynasty. His translations include the Meditation on the Correct Teaching Sutra, The Accordance with "The Treatise on the Middle Way and The Refutation of Objections.
