"The purpose of all major religious traditions is not to build large temples outward, but to create temples of goodness and compassion within our hearts." - PSS Dalai Lama

The Tara Alba Buddhist Study Group was founded in September 2009 in Pitesti and was accepted as part of the Mahayana Traditions Foundation (FPMT), the Gelugpa line, under the auspices of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

This non-profit international organization was founded in 1975 by Lama Thubten Yeshe (1935-1984) and by Lama Zopa Rinpoche, both Buddhist monks.

The foundation is devoted to preserving and spreading Mahayana Buddhism throughout the world by creating opportunities for listening, reflecting, practicing, and describing correctly the teachings of the Buddha. In this way, on the basis of experimentation, to share the Dharma with all beings, so that the minds and hearts of men can be transformed to their highest potential - for the benefit of others, inspired by an attitude of universal responsibility and commitment.

Our goal is to create harmonious environments and to help all beings develop their full potential of infinite wisdom and compassion. Our organization is based on Lama Tsongkhapa's Buddhist Gelugpa tradition, as our founder Lama Thubten Yeshe and spiritual director Lama Zopa Rinpoche have taught us.

In Romania, the center is open in Mosoaia, Dealul Viilor village and is recognized and promoted internationally. Over the years, he has hosted various conferences, courses and withdrawals - starting with Lam-Rim, the three-year course of Lotsawa Thubten Sherab - a translator of Buddhist texts, and continuing with the periodical visits of Gheshe Dondrup Tsering - Sera Jhe Monastery in India, member of the Committee for Philosophical Studies and graduate of the Tantric College in the Gelugpa line and courses and conferences facilitated by Thubten Saldron - group coordinator.

Our Study Group has also been involved in charity activities in Pitesti, the elderly, children with disabilities, homeless people, or long-term animal rescue projects.

In 2011, we hosted the Pitesti International Tour of the Buddhist Relic. Bhakta Kasyapa, Buddha Shakyamuni, Venerable Shariputra, Venerable Maudgalyayana, Venerable Ananda, Venerable Kondanna, Venerable Rahula, Nagarjuna, Lodhak Thugchen Namgya Tenzin - Vajrapani, Bodhisattva Chophak, The 500 Arhates, Yeshe Tsogyal, Lama Atisha, Longchenpa, Marpa the Translator, Milarepa, Lama Tsongkhapa, Pabongka Rinpoche and many others from different Buddhist lines. I also supported the Buddha Maitreya statue building project in Kushinagar, India.

In line with the vast vision of the PSS Dalai Lama, we organize inter-religious meetings to promote peace, harmony and brotherhood between people, beyond religious, political, social, etc.
At present, in collaboration with the Pitesti Cultural Center, the course "Buddhism for Beginners" - a gateway to the inner knowledge and a cultural incursion into the Buddhist philosophy, is taking place free of charge at Casa Cartii in Pitesti .

Every being has the potential to free themselves from suffering and to develop unlimited love and compassion for others. FPMT strives to follow the example of His Holiness the Dalai Lama in his service full of love and compassion for humanity.

FPMT students try to serve all beings around the world with kindness and wisdom. We are a rapidly growing non-profit organization that participates in many aspects of the global community. Some of the projects affiliated with FPMT are:

"When we are motivated by compassion and wisdom, the results of our actions are to the benefit of all, not only our own or personal comfort. When we are able to recognize and forgive the ignorant actions of the past, we gain the power to resolve constructively the problems of the present ".

- PSS Dalai Lama
Everyone is welcome to join us in studying Buddhist philosophy and in all our practices for the benefit of beings. Our goal is not prozelitsmul.
