Forest of Meanings in the Mahayana Garden of the Law, The
大乗法苑義林章 (Chin Ta-ch’eng-fa-yüan-i-lin-chang; Jpn Daijo-ho’on-girin-jo )
Abbreviated as The Forest of Meanings in the Garden of the Law. A seven-volume work by Tz'u-en (632-682), the founder of the Dharma Characteristics (Fa-hsiang) school in China, explaining the major doctrines of the school. It compares non-Buddhist, Hinayana, and Mahayana teachings, and asserts the supremacy of the Mahayana Consciousness-Only doctrine.
