The four dignities are ancient symbols that represent qualities of the windhorse.
The four dignities are:
Mythical animals that represent various aspects of the bodhisattva attitude: dragon for power, tiger for confidence, snow lion for fearlessness and garuda for wisdom.
Many prayer flags show the four dignities with a windhorse in the center.
