Illusory Nature

From Tibetan Buddhist Encyclopedia
Jump to navigation Jump to search

If we do not know how to meditate
On the illusory nature of whatever appears,
How can we ever apply the opponent forces?
How can we overcome negativities
Merely by trying to avoid them?
By recognizing their illusory nature,
Liberation arises of itself.

Excerpted from Treatise on the Six Yogas of Niguma by the Second Dalai Lama. Published by Snow Lion (2006) in The Dalai Lamas on Tantra, translated by Glenn H. Mullin.
