Khadgayogini.jpg

Khadgayogini Aspect of Vajravarahi (Guhya Jnana Dakini) Khadgayogini is a manifestation of Vajravarahi, and this image of the deity was probably part of a set of Dakinis that flanked an image of Chakrasamvara and Vajravarahi. While she is a form of Vajravarahi that is rarely seen, Khadgayogini is one of her principle aspects in Nepal. Khadgayogini brandishes a sword (khadga) as if to strike a violent slashing blow. Like Vajravarahi's flaying knife attribute, the sword is also a means of cutting away delusion and attachment to the physical world. It represents the sword of transcendent insight, but it also symbolizes the practitioner's power of mundane attainment (siddhi), such as the controlling aspects of the mundane world.
