Koṇāgamana Buddha is one of the Buddhas of the present kalpa. In Buddhist tradition, Koṇāgamana is the name of the twenty-sixth Buddha, the second of the five Buddhas of the present era, and the fifth of the seven ancient Buddhas. In Burma (or Myanmar) Koṇāgamana is called Koṇāgon or Koṇāgamanan. According to Burmese mythology, he was born on Wednesday, because of this Koṇāgamana is placed on the Wednesday pedestal.
