聖者聖人牟尼 (Skt, Pali; Jpn seija, shonin, or muni )

    Sage, saint, holy person, seer, ascetic, monk, hermit, or recluse. The name Shakyamuni means the sage of the Shakya tribe. The word muni was widely used in the religious world in India. The Sanskrit words sadhu and arya are synonymous with muni; sadhu means holy person or sage, and arya, noble person, wise person, loyal person, or sage.
