Second stage of faith

The second stage of faith is described in the sutra as that at which one “generally understands the import of the words”10 of the sutra. And in volume nine of The Annotations on “The Words and Phrases of the Lotus Sutra” we read, “The initial stage of faith is different from the others, because in the initial stage there is as yet no understanding.”
