Tantra is a vibrant spiritual science found in Hinduism and Buddhism. This ancient tradition has also influenced the belief systems of Asians, Americans, and Europeans. Most of the spiritual traditions teach that spiritual aspirations and the desire for worldly pleasures both are exclusive. This philosophy often creates an internal struggle in humans.

While having a natural urge to fulfil their desires, they are drawn to spiritual practices. Most of the people don’t find a way to reconcile the impulses of spirituality and worldly desires. Due to this reason, they often become hypocritical or feel guilty or both.

People who follow the tantric approach manages to avoid this pitfall. “Tantra”, the word has been derived from “tattva” and “mantra”. Tattva stands for the science of cosmic principles. When it comes to “mantra” it stands for the science of vibrations & mystic sound. So overall, it is fair to conclude that tantra is an application of cosmic science that focuses on achieving spiritual ascendancy. In this post, we will discuss the goal of tantra.

What Is the Goal of Tantra?

The scriptures and the philosophy of tantra teach us the manifestation of our highest self. Tantric practice is the process of harnessing the essence of the best of our lifein all the aspects. The feeling of comprehensive consciousness triggers the ability to balance divine energy. Many people see this balance as masculine and feminine energy.

Overall it is fair to conclude that the purpose of tantra is not just practising ancient spiritual traditions. When you practice it properly, a complete awakening comes out from your soul from top to down.

If you practice tantra properly, then you also will be able to leverage the power of Kundalini energy. Kundalini is a form of divine energy which is located at the base of the spine. When it comes to Kundalini, you work with cause and effects with the hope to get a certain sensation.

Tantric yoga techniques can be categorised into different types, but the 3 of them are mainly popular. Each school of tantra breaks down into subcategories, and you will find other forms of practices like the right hand, left hand, red tantra, white tantra, Buddhist tantra, etc. All of these practices are based on different tantric philosophies.

People practice tantra for achieving ultimate happiness in life. While practising tantra, you will experience a powerful feeling that might not be able to bear all of its intensity. Let us understand this fact with an example. Thousands of volts of electricity can run through a light bulb, but it can’t bear the intensity. So, overall it is fair to conclude that only a special kind of people can seek and find the goal of tantra. This is not every one’s cup of tea.

In the End

The tantric practise has been reserved only to the few. It has remained a secret for over thousands of years. However, it did not decay over time. Tantra is not a religion but a powerful spiritual philosophy that helps people to stay awake and use his/her shakti.
