eight cardinal points of the world; Buddhists use an eight-spoked wheel to represent the Eightfold Path taught by the Buddha as a means to escape suffering through the breaking of attachments. These paths are;
right view,
right intention,
right speech,
right action,
right livelihood,
right effort,
right mindfulness, and
right concentration.
