Vajra body (Skt. kāyavajra; Wyl. sku'i rdo rje) is the physical body in the tantras. It is so called because, according to Marpa Rinpoche for example, it is made of bliss and emptiness, and has the five manifestations of enlightenment. Other teachers say this is because it is already made of the enlightened qualities.
