Mon. Tenpa Dhargya (Dawa) was born in 1985 in Vikas Nagar in Dehra Dun. His father is Ngawang Penpa and his mother is Tashi. In 1989 was ordained by Geshe Kalsang in Clement Town, Dehra Dun and joined Tashi Kyil Monastery. At the monastery, he studied rituals and prayers, Tibetan language, grammar, poetry, and English. In addition, he studied Buddhist philosophy. He has studied the Perfection Treatises. In 2008, he received Senior Monk Vows from His Holiness the Dalai Lama. In 2013, he came to the USA as part of the Tashi Kyil Tour Group. While in the States, he made many friends.
