Hell of burning heat
焦熱地獄 (Skt Tapana, Tāpana; Jpn Shonetsu-jigoku)
Also, hell of searing heat.The sixth of the eight hot hells.It is said that in this hell offenders are surrounded by iron walls and consumed by flames.In Buddhist works, the fierce flames of this hell and of the hell of great burning heat often symbolize the suffering of hell in general.The Sanskrit word tapana means heat or burning.
