Gon'yo

The administrator of Shijuku-in, a temple of the Tendai school, in Kambara in Suruga Province, Japan, during the Kamakura period (1185-1333). Nikko, who was later to become Nichiren's successor, had originally entered the priesthood at Shijuku-in and studied there.
