五波羅蜜 (Jpn go-haramitsu )

    Almsgiving, keeping the precepts, forbearance, assiduousness, and meditation. Five of the six paramitas, or six practices required of Mahayana bodhisattvas in order to attain Buddhahood, omitting the paramita of obtaining wisdom.
