Three yanas

The three yanas or the 'three vehicles' (Skt. triyāna; Wyl. theg pa gsum; Tib. tekpa sum) —

In the context of the basic yana and the mahayana, this refers to:

• the shravaka yana,
• the pratyekabuddha yana and
• the bodhisattva yana.

In the context of the vajrayana, this refers to:

• the basic yana,
• the mahayana and
• the vajrayana.
