The Very Venerable Bokar Tulku Rinpoche (1940-August 17, 2004) was heart-son of His Eminence the Second Kalu Rinpoche and an important holder of the Karma Kagyu and Shangpa Kagyu lineages. Bokar Rinpoche (1940-2004): Continued the Shang-pa Kagyu tradition of Kalu Rinpoche and teacher of the young reincarnation of Kalu Rinpoche. Also held the Karmapa Kagyu lineage.
Rinpoche (Tibetan: རིན་པོ་ཆེ་, Wylie: rin po che, IPA: [rinˈpotʃe]) is an honorific used in Tibetan Buddhism. It literally means "precious one".
