Santa Cruz Zen Center (SCZC), temple name Jorinzan Gyokuon-ji (Warm Jewel Temple), is a Sōtō Zen Buddhist practice center in the lineage of Shunryu Suzuki Roshi.

It is located in Santa Cruz, California and led by Kokyo Henkel.

History and Leadership

SCZC was founded in 1970 by Kobun Chino Roshi.

It moved to its present location at 113 and 115 School Street in 1972.

Sobun Katherine Thanas became head teacher of SCZC in 1989, and became its Abbott in 2002.
