Mahamaya (Skt. Mahāmāyā; Wyl. sgyu ma chen mo; Eng. 'Great Illusion'). Mahamaya (S) The mother of Prince Gautama who became Shakaymuni Buddha. A Koliyan Princess married to King Suddhodana, Chieftan of the Sakyan Clan. Together they resided in the city of Kapilavastu.
