A [[halo]] ([[byāmappabhā]] or [[pabhāmaṇḍala]]) is a ring of [[light]] believed to appear around the head of particularly saintly [[people]]. {{Wiki|Ancient}} and {{Wiki|modern}} depictions of the [[Buddha]] often show him with a [[halo]] although the [[Tipiṭaka]] never mentions him having one.
