清茶門教 Ching Cha Moon Gaau – meaning the pure tea door sect, it is because they use pure tea to worship the gods.

朱教 Jue Gaau - meaning the lastname Jue 朱’s religion, hinting to the first Ming Dynasty king, 朱元璋 Jue Yuen Jeung. For sure this sect was born in the Ching Dynasty to overthrow the Ching government and rebuild their Ming Dynasty “paradise”. So they use this name of Jue for the sect!

十字教 sup jee gaau – meaning the cross sect, total going to Jesus sect as the original white lotus religion is into Christianity and so on. So they are doing something similar here but more geared toward the Jesus vibe to gain different audience’s attention.

焚香教 fun heung gaau – meaning the incense burning sect, obviously going into incense burning practice which attracted many folks belief and Taoism vibe people over.

混元教 Wun Yuen Gaau - this word “Wun Yuen” is a Taoism terminology, meaning the original state of universe when there is no planets and only gases. This term was used to make people think this is a Taoism sect instead of a white lotus sect.

紅陽教 hung yang gaau - Red Sun Sect, meaning the sun.. worship the sun, that is a total proof for their history, refer to their original believe of the ming-gaau (bright religion) who worship fire, sun and moon). The hung yang can also mean the fire as well which is red.

白陽教 baak yang gaau – White Sun Sect, meaning the moon basically, same as above, they really love to worship anything that have brightness.

老君教lo gwun gaau - the elder lord (tai sheung lo gwun, believed as a Taoism deity) sect. They are going total Taoism vibe here in this sect.

大乘教 daai sing gaau – using the word for a Buddhism sect Mahayana Buddhism. Obviously this is a Buddhism vibe sect.

清香教 ching heung gaau – pure incense sect, again, incense burning but with a bit of “Buddhism” vibe.

八卦教 baat gwa gaau - the bagwa (ba gua) sect, totally going into Taoism vibe again.
