Jnanaprabha
智光 (n.d.) (Skt; Jpn Chiko)
A leading Disciple of Shilabhadra who lived in the state of Magadha in central India around the seventh century. Jnanaprabha studied Buddhism at Nalanda Monastery. Well versed in both Hinayana and Mahayana teachings and non-Buddhist literature, he was famous throughout India. He is said to have later followed Nagarjuna's Doctrine of the Middle Way and debated with his former Teacher, Shilabhadra, who belonged to the Consciousness-Only School.
