Tenpa Phuntsok was born in Kulhan, Dehra Dun in 1986. His father is Pema Namgyal and his mother is Kunsang Wangmo. He went to school in Dehra Dun until Class 2 and then became a monk at Tashi Kyil Monastery at the age of eight. For sixteen years he studied Buddhist rituals and philosophy while also working at the monastery. He recently finished his studies of the Six Perfections and is presently studying the Middle Way Philosophy at the Dharma Institute at Tashi Kyil Monastery. If you are fortunate enough to attend the “Let’s Travel to Tibet” program presented by the monks, you will see that Tenpa plays the role of the Yak herder and also the tamer of the Snow Lion. Tenpa was a member of the 2011 Tashi Khil Tour Group. He speaks excellent English and serves as translator of the 2013 Tour Group.
