Five lay vows

The five lay vows (Skt. upāsakaṃvara; Wyl. dge bsnyen gyi sdom pa) are:
- not to kill,
- not to steal,
- not to lie,
- not to commit sexual misconduct, and
- not to take any intoxicants.
