The Chimé Pakmé Nyingtik Lineage Prayer
༄༅། །འཆི་མེད་འཕགས་མའི་སྙིང་ཐིག་གི་བརྒྱུད་པའི་གསོལ་འདེབས་ཚེ་དབང་བཅུད་འཛིན་ཞེས་བྱ་བ་བཞུགས་སོ།
The Chimé Phakmé Nyingtik Lineage Prayer, The Fount of Longevity

རང་བྱུང་རྟག་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེ་ཚེ་དཔག་མེད། །
rangjung takpé dorje tsepakmé
Naturally present, everlasting, indestructible Amitāyus,
འཆི་བདག་བདུད་འཇོམས་གཙུག་ཏོར་རྣམ་པར་རྒྱལ། །
chidak düjom tsuktor nampargyal
Conqueror of the demon Lord of Death, Uṣhṇiṣha-Vijaya,
དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་དབང་ཕྱུག་ཡིད་བཞིན་འཁོར་ལོ་ལ། །
kyilkhor wangchuk yishyin khorlo la
Chief of the maṇḍala, Wish-fulfilling Wheel:1
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.2
འགྱུར་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་རང་གཟུགས་ཤྲཱི་སིཾ་ཧ། །
gyurmé yeshe rang zuk shri singha
The very form of changeless primordial wisdom, Shrī Siṃha,
འཕོ་བྲལ་འཕོ་བ་ཆེན་པོ་བི་མ་ལ། །
podral powa chenpo bimala
Unchanging in the rainbow body of great transference, Vimalamitra,
རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྐུ་བརྙེས་པདྨ་སམྦྷ་བར། །
dorje ku nyé pema sambhava
Padmasambhava, endowed with the indestructible vajra body:
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.
ཆོས་རྒྱལ་ཡབ་སྲས་གདམས་པའི་སྣོད་ལྡན་རྗེ། །
chögyal yabsé dampé nöden jé
Dharma kings Trisong Detsen and Gyalsé Lhajé, destined to receive these instructions,
བཻ་རོ་གནུབས་ཆེན་མཆོག་དབྱངས་ནམ་སྙིང་འབངས། །
bairo nubchen chokyang namnying bang
Vairochana, Nupchen, Gyalwa Chokyang, Namkhé Nyingpo,
ཚེ་ལམ་གསང་བའི་གྲོགས་མཆོག་མཚོ་རྒྱལ་མར། །
tsé lam sangwé drok chok tsogyalmar
And Yeshe Tsogyal, supreme secret consort on the path of longevity:
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.
འོད་གསལ་ཀློང་ནས་སྤྲུལ་པའི་རྡོ་རྗེར་ཤར། །
ösal long né trulpé dorjer shar
Shining as a vajra appearing in the expanse of clear light,3
དྲི་མེད་ཡེ་ཤེས་འོད་བརྒྱའི་གཟི་བརྗིད་འཕྲོ། །
drimé yeshe ö gyé ziji tro
Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo, you radiate hundreds of rays of stainless wisdom,
འགྲོ་བའི་མུན་སེལ་དཔལ་ལྡན་བླ་མ་ལ། །
drowé münsel palden lama la
Glorious master, who lights up the darkness of living beings:
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.
༈ འཆི་མེད་སྐུ་བརྙེས་བསྟན་གཉིས་གཡུང་དྲུང་གླིང༌།
chimé ku nyé tennyi yungdrung ling
Yungdrung Lingpa4 in your immortal body,
ཆོས་ཀྱི་རྒྱ་མཚོ་འགྱུར་མེད་ཚེ་དབང་རྩལ།
chökyi gyatso gyurmé tsewang tsal
Chökyi Gyatso,5 Tsewang Gyurmé,6
རིགས་ཀུན་ཁྱབ་བདག་ཆོས་ཀྱི་བློ་གྲོས་ལ།
rik kün khyabdak chökyi lodrö la
And you, Chökyi Lodrö, enlightened lord of all buddha families:
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.7
༈ ཐུགས་ཏིག་བཀའ་བབ་གདམས་ཟབ་བཅུད་འཛིན་པའི། །
tuktik kabab dam zab chü dzinpé
Holders of the quintessence of the profound instructions in this Heart Essence transmission,
རྩ་བརྒྱུད་བླ་མ་འཆི་མེད་དཀྱིལ་འཁོར་ལྷ། །
tsa gyü lama chimé kyilkhor lha
Root and lineage teachers, deities of the maṇḍala of immortality,
དཔའ་བོ་ཌཱ་ཀི་དམ་ཅན་གཏེར་སྲུང་ལ། །
pawo daki damchen tersung la
Dakas, dakinis and samaya bound terma protectors:
གསོལ་བ་འདེབས་སོ་ཚེ་དབང་དངོས་གྲུབ་སྩོལ། །
solwa deb so tsewang ngödrub tsol
To you I pray—grant me the attainment of power over life.
ཡོངས་གྲུབ་རྡོ་རྗེའི་བདུད་རྩིས་ལུས་ཁམས་ཀྱི། །
yongdrub dorje dütsi lü kham kyi
Through your blessing, let the vajra nectar, utterly unchanging, cleanse my body of the stains of the cycles of movement,
འཕོ་བའི་དྲི་བཀྲུས་གཉུག་མའི་ཐིག་ལེ་གསོས། །
powé dri trü nyukmé tiklé sö
And nurture the indestructible, original tiklé,
ལྟར་སྣང་ལུས་ལ་བརྟེན་པའི་སྲོག་གི་ཚེ། །
tar nang lü la tenpé sok gi tsé
So that the longevity of my vital force, based on the delusional body,
སྐུ་ཡི་རྡོ་རྗེར་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
ku yi dorjer drubpar jingyi lob
Is transformed into the vajra body!
ཐབས་དང་ཤེས་རབ་ཐམས་ཅད་བདེ་ཆེན་ངང༌། །
tab dang sherab tamché dechen ngang
When skilful means unites with wisdom, all is great bliss;
ཐུན་མོང་ཐུན་མིན་གནད་ཀྱིས་ཟག་པ་ཀུན། །
tünmong tünmin né kyi zakpa kün
Through your blessing, let the crucial points of the practice, common and extraordinary,
འགྱུར་བ་མེད་བསྡམས་འཕོ་བཅས་ཐིག་ལེའི་ཚེ། །
gyurwamé dam poché tiklé tsé
Restrain all outflows so that all is changeless, and the longevity of the moving tiklé
གསུང་གི་རྡོ་རྗེར་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
sung gi dorjer drubpar jingyi lob
Be accomplished as vajra speech!
སྣང་བ་འཁྲུལ་མེད་འོད་གསལ་སྦུབས་སུ་ཚུད། །
nangwa trulmé ösal bub su tsü
Since objective appearances, without delusion, are all only clear light,
རིག་པ་དྲི་མེད་ཀ་དག་ལྷུམས་སུ་ཞུགས། །
rigpa drimé kadak lhum su shyuk
And subjective rigpa awareness enters the womb of the immaculate, primordial purity,
ནམ་ཡང་མི་འགྱུར་རྟག་པ་གཉུག་མའི་ཚེ། །
namyang mingyur takpa nyukmé tsé
Through your blessing, may my never-changing, everlasting, ultimate and original longevity
ཐུགས་ཀྱི་རྡོ་རྗེར་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
tuk kyi dorjer drubpar jingyi lob
Be realized as vajra mind.
རྒྱུ་འབྲས་སྐྱེ་འཆིའི་འཇིགས་པ་ཀུན་ལས་གྲོལ། །
gyundré kyechi jikpa kün lé drol
Freed from fear of cause and result, and of birth and death,
འཆི་མེད་རྟག་པ་དམ་པའི་ཚེ་དབང་ཐོབ། །
chimé takpa dampé tsewang tob
And empowered with an immortal, unending and supreme life-span,
འཁོར་བ་སྲིད་དུ་རྒྱུན་མི་འཆད་པའི་སྐུ། །
khorwa si du gyün mi chepé ku
Through your blessing, may I appear perpetually in buddha bodies for as long as saṃsāra endures—
ཡེ་ཤེས་རྡོ་རྗེར་འགྲུབ་པར་བྱིན་གྱིས་རློབས། །
yeshe dorjer drubpar jingyi lob
And may I realize and embody indestructible vajra wisdom.
ཞེས་པ་འདིའང་དེ་ཝཱི་ཀོ་ཊི་ཙ་འདྲ་རིན་ཆེན་བྲག་གི་སྙིང་པོ་དཔལ་སྤུངས་ཡང་ཁྲོད་ཀུན་བཟང་བདེ་ཆེན་འོད་གསལ་གླིང་དུ་པདྨ་གར་གྱི་དབང་ཕྱུག་རྩལ་གྱིས་བྲིས་པ་འཆི་མེད་རྡོ་རྗེའི་སྲོག་འགྲུབ་པའི་རྒྱུར་གྱུར་ཅིག །དགེ་ལེགས་འཕེལ། །
This prayer was written by Pema Gargyi Wangchuk Tsal at Kunsang Dechen Osel Ling, the upper hermitage of Palpung monastery, and the heart of Devikoti Tsadra Rinchen Drak. May it become the cause for the accomplishing of immortal life. May virtue abound!

↑ ‘Wish-fulfilling Wheel’ is an epithet of White Tara, indicating that she accomplishes whatever we wish continuously.
↑ ‘Power over life’ is one of the ten powers of buddhas and bodhisattvas. To have such mastery over your lifespan means you can choose to abandon your life or remain to the end of an incalculable aeon of time, depending on your wishes. It is said to result mainly from generosity.
↑ This line is a play on one of Jamyang Khyentse Wangpo’s names, Ösel Trulpé Dorje, which was given to him by Vimalamitra.
