Tika-paṭṭhāna; Pāli term meaning literally ‘origins of triads’. First part of the Paṭṭhāna, the final book of the Abhidharma Piṭaka of the Pāli Canon. It is a highly technical text, consisting of a minutely detailed analysis of the doctrine of conditionality (pratītya-samutpāda). Its commentary was composed by Buddhaghoṣa in the 5th century.
