Jojin
成尋 (1011–1081)
A priest of the Tendai school in Japan.
He wrote commentaries on the Lotus Sutra and The Treatise on the Observation of the Mind.
In 1072 he journeyed to China of the Northern Sung dynasty and made a pilgrimage to Mount T'ient'ai and Mount Wu-t'ai.
Emperor Shen-tsung regarded him highly.
He had sutras, texts of the rules of monastic discipline, and doctrinal treatises brought from China to Japan in 527 volumes.
He died in 1081 at K'ai-pao-ssu temple in Pien-ching, the capital of the Northern Sung dynasty.
His work The Record of the Pilgrimage to Mount T'ient'ai and Mount Wu-t'ai is a description of his journey to China and his stay, and is valued highly in Japan as a record of that period in China.
