Sautrāntika-Yogācāra The Buddhists of the Sautrāntika-Yogācāra school have vehemently opposed the existence of a permanent self behind the psychical phenomena either as their substratum or as their condition. But they postulate the existence of pure, absolute consciousness, though momentary, bereft of subject-object determinations in the state of Nirvāṇa.
