Short Description: The evil prince in the Contemplation Sutra and Nirvana Sutra. He is an example of the power of the Buddha to save.
Long Description: The evil prince who murdered his father Bimbiśāra and imprisoned his mother Vaidehī , from the central Pure Land legend recounted in the Contemplation Sutra and in the Nirvana Sutra, quoted by Shinran in Collected Works of Shinran. KGSS, III. pp. 125-143, under the topic “The Person Difficult to Save.” The prince is an example of the power of the Buddha to save.
