About
Established in 1997 by the Venerable Tâm Lạc, the Liên Hoa Temple was originally in a very small federation-style house located in O'Hara Street, Marrickville.
The Abbess named the Temple after her master's temple in Vietnam, Liên Hoa Temple in Saigon headed by her master Venerable Hai Trieu Am.
In 2000 it moved to 210 Livingstone Road, Marrickville, to be able to provide better services for the growing number of Buddhists visiting the temple.
Lien Hoa Temple is part of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in Australia and is also a nunnery.
The Abbot was all by herself in the temple until Venerable Huệ Nhẫn joined the temple in 1997 as a novice.
