Gopika
[瞿夷] (Skt; Jpn Kui)

Also known as Gopior Gopa. Shakyamuni's wife while he was a prince, before he renounced secular life to seek enlightenment. The Twelve-year Journey Sutra describes Gopikaas Shakyamuni's principal wife, and Yashodhara, the mother of his son and disciple Rahula, as his second wife. In the Sutra of Collected Birth Stories concerning the Practice of the Six Paramitas, however, Gopikais the mother of Rahula and is identified with Yashodhara.
