The Bonri monastery, located high up a valley at the base of Bonri peak (5060 meters), is now destroyed. The monastery site at Bonri, at 4872 meters, offers some of the best views of Lake Manasarovar and Raksas Tal. It is 300 meters above the lake and it once had 10-12 monks before the Cultural Revolution.
