Karana Mudra

The Karana mudra is the gesture of warding off evil. This mudra emanates energy to rid such obstacles as sickness or negative thoughts. The right hand is at chest level with palm facing forward. The thumb touches the two middle fingers. The index and little finger are raised straight upwards. The left hand rests on the lap with palm facing upward.

If you are not familiar with mudras or would like a refresher, please read my introduction to mudras.

Mudra Mantra

When making the Karana mudra, repeat this mantra, or verse that holds meaning, slowly and intentionally. Allow the energy of the mudra and the power of the mantra to penetrate ever more deeply.
“May obstacles be removed.”
“May negative energy be thwarted.”

    “Since everything is a reflection
    Of our minds,
    Everything can be changed
    By our minds.”
    -Master Chin Kung
