Lenyadri Caves

Lenyadri Caves are situated 5 Km north east of Junnar town on Junnar-Udapur Road.

These Buddhist Caves were excavated at the end of first century A.D. This cave group have 30 caves.

Important Cave list include:

• Cave 4 – small Chaitya
• Cave 6- Main Chaitya
• Cave 7 – known as Ganesh Lena, now abode of Hindu deity
• Cave 15- Flat roofed Chaitya

One of the inscriptions describes the gift by resident of Kalyan.
