Abhidhamma Lecture (English) October 7, 2018 "Consciousness" (Part-15)
Sometimes when you practice meditation, you do not see the object clearly. You may note in and out, in and out, or rising and falling, but you do not see it clearly. That is Uddhacca-sampayutta. Uddhacca is with all twelve types of unwholesome consciousness actually. It is not just with this last consciousness, but it is also with the other eleven types of consciousness as well. Only this last Citta is described as Uddhacca-sampayutta, as accompanied by Uddhacca. That is because in the other Cittas there are more active mental states so that it cannot raise its head.
