Most of these schools developed around one particular sutra or aspect of the teaching of the Buddha which the followers held to be the epitome of the Buddha’s teachings. Actually the Buddha taught all 84,000 different Dharmas to help beings overcome their different afflictions or obstacles to enlightenment. As such they are all good and useful. One may need different types of medicine or medical treatment at different stages in curing one’s illnesses.
