Bhikkhu Nanājīvako (Cedomil Veljacic) was born in Yugoslavia in 1915 and has been a Buddhist monk residing in Sri Lanka since 1966. He received his Ph.D. degree in Indian and Greek philosophy and served as a Lecturer in Asian philosophy at the University of Zagreb in Yugoslavia. He is the author of many books on Buddhist and Indian thought in his native tongue. His writings have been published in journals and books in India, Sri Lanka and in many Western countries.
