Redemption from death

I prostrate before the glorious great Tara!

The ritual of the golden-green Tara appeases and cuts off the lord of death. Since everything harmful is liberated from the dakas and rakshasas, Tara is the highest.

For the sake of appeasing any great fear due to visions in dreams, due to the onset of the time of untimely death and dreams with signs of death, such as changing the body, etc., a yogi who repeatedly got used to unshakable meditative absorption and counted [[[mantra]]] should sit on a good seat in a secluded place. [Further] perform, as before, actions with the body. Generate

love and great mercy towards living beings. Get a little used to the small mind, which is like an illusion. Instantly [[[transform]]] into the glorious great Tara, with a yellow-green body. The body is adorned with various jewels. With two hands with the seal-wise of the proclamation of the Teaching, he holds a blue lotus at the heart. Sitting cross-legged on top of lotus and moon.

In her heart, above the lotus and the moon [appears] the yellow-green syllable tāṁ. Rays of light radiate from it in ten directions. The power of the lord of death of living beings becomes non-existent when they have the time of untimely death. When returning and going back, look at sentient beings who are overwhelmed by suffering with a mind that is like an illusion. Say it, which is the highest of hearts.

oṁ tāre tuttāre ture bhaya haraṇi hūṁ hūṁ hūṁ mṛityū daṇḍa yama daṇḍa yamā dhuna svāhā

Do a repetition. When you have performed [repetition] of dharani, burning of gifts, torma offerings and offerings, sing a hymn of praise.

After that, draw with three types of saffron on the birch bark a chakra with seven spokes. There write: “Let the pernicious <name> be appeased”, etc. To increase, write the heart [[[mantra]]] and dharani.

Then tie the chakra inside a box of wood or horn, or roll it up with fresh substances or jewels. When you have done this, tie the vessel with red thread many times. When wrapped in white silk or white cotton, tie it to the tree by the stupa or the tree by the temple with the great assembly of the sangha. When you have done this, make offerings from time to time for those of special [[[nobility]]]. Practice meditation, practice the chanting of the heart [[[mantra]]], dharani and hymns.

Noble Tara, possessing great power! By remembering your secret mantra, the harm of the lord of death is pacified! Let, having pacified, [I can] touch a piece of [your] feet!

Blessed by the noble Manjushri.

Thus ends the ransom from death compiled by the great pandita Tahhagata Rakshita.
