A Short Method for Reciting Samantabhadra’s Prayer for Excellent Conduct by Dzongsar Khyentse Chӧkyi Lodrӧ Rinpoche

In The Buddha, the Dharma, and the Supreme Assembly,

I go for Refuge from now until Enlightenment.

By the Merit of my practice of Generosity and so on,

May I attain Buddhahood in order to benefit beings.

Recite a Refuge and Bodhichitta prayer such as this three times.

In the space before me abides Guru Bhagavan Shakyamuni,

In the forefront the Bodhisattva Samantabhadra,

And in all the cardinal and intermediate directions, above, and below, Buddhas and bodhisattvas,

Giving Power to the accomplishment of the prayer.

They bestow harmonious words of Truth, and through this, the objects of aspiration

Are accomplished just as we recite and just as we wish,

And the supreme conduct of Enlightenment is fully perfected:

Through this, may the prayer of Samantabhadra come to culmination.

After reciting this, recite the Prayer for Excellent Conduct clearly, purely, and pleasantly. Finally:

Shakyamuni along with this retinue melt into Light, and dissolve into oneself.

Rest in the expanse of luminosity, free from elaboration.

And thus, in response to the request of the virtuous practitioner Lama Ngakchhӧ, Chӧkyi Lodrӧ wrote this.

Translated from Tibetan by Erick Tsiknopoulos.
