A sutra translated into Chinese in 179 by Lokakshema, a monk from [[Wikipedia:Central Asia|Central Asia]]. In it, Shakyamuni explains that by practicing "the meditation to behold the Buddhas" (Skt pratyutpanna-samadhi ) one can see Amida and all other Buddhas. This sutra belongs to the earliest period of Mahayana and is said to have been produced sometime from the first century B.C.E. through the first century C.E.
