阿提目多伽 (Skt; Jpn adaimokutaka )

A plant that appears in Buddhist scriptures. It reaches more than ten meters in height, and its flowers are light crimson. Perfumed oil produced from the seeds of atimuktaka was used as an offering to the Buddha. The "Distinctions in Benefits" (seventeenth) chapter of the Lotus Sutra states, "Constantly burning fragrant oil extracted from sumana, champaka, or atimuktaka flowers, if he offers alms such as these he will gain immeasurable merits."
