A detailed commentary in ten volumes by Miao-lo (711-782) on The Profound Meaning of the Lotus Sutra, one of T'ient'ai's three major works. It is Miao-lo's compilation of his lectures and his answers to questions on The Profound Meaning of the Lotus Sutra. In this writing, Miao-lo clarifies T'ient'ai's teachings in terms of both theory and practice, and establishes the principle of "ten non-dualities" or "ten onenesses." In the tradition of T'ient'ai, he reiterates the supremacy of the Lotus Sutra, refuting the views of the Flower Garland (Chin Hua-yen) and Dharma Characteristics (Fa-hsiang) schools that flourished in his time.
