Four Limitless States of Mind (apramana, si wuliangxin):

The four states of Brahman or four immeasurables are

limitless loving kindness toward all beings (maitri),

limitless compassion toward all beings who are suffering (karuna),

limitless sympathetic joy over the success and

happiness of others (mudita), and

limitless equanimity toward friend and foe (upeksha).

One of the “wholesome dharmas” that produces good “karma.”
