pasada / prasada; The cure for samvega is pasada / prasada, a word of uncertain etymology. Pasada was the Buddha’s mental state after the fourth encounter, with a renunciate religious contemplative. Prasada is also one of three words in the Lotus Sutra translated as faith. Sino-japanese translations include pure faith 淨信 {joshin}, sincere faith 信心 {shinjin}, and confidence 信受 {shinju}. Note that Prasada is not denial. It is not bargaining, nor is is resignation or acceptance of one’s fate. </poem>
