hell of incessant suffering
無間地獄 (Skt, Pali Avichi; Jpn Muken-jigoku)
Also, Avichi hell. The eighth and most horrible of the eight hot hells. It is so called because its inhabitants are said to suffer without a moment's respite. This hell is often referred to as the great citadel of the hell of incessant suffering because seven iron walls surround it so that no one can escape. The hell of incessant suffering is situated at the lowest level of the world of desire. It measures eighty thousand yojanas (twenty thousand yojanas according to another source) on each side. Those who commit even one of the five cardinal sins or slander the correct teaching are said to fall into this hell.
