ox-headed demons
牛頭 (Skt goshirsha; Jpn gozu )

    Also, ox-headed beings. With horse-headed demons, beings said to act as jailors in hell. These two kinds of jailors are depicted as having the bodies of human beings and the heads of oxen and horses. The Sanskrit word go means ox, and shirsha means head.
