Let us now look at the eight preconditions for candidate aspiring for Buddhahood.

1. He is a human being.
2. He is male sex
3. He is qualified to attain Arahatship and be prepared to aspire for Bodhisattaship.
4. He must aspire for Buddhahood only before the Supreme enlightened Buddha.
5. He had already renounced all his worldly possessions and living as ascetic hermit at the time he met Supreme Buddha.
6. He must have the Supernormal Powers (such as Divine Eyes, Divine Ear, etc., etc.,), together with the full jhanic ecstasy.
7. He must be so selfless as to even sacrifice his life for the Buddha and the Ariyan Noble Truth.
8. He must have the endurance and energy to uphold and practise the Bodhisatta ideals (ten perfections or Paramitas) until successfully and completely accomplished

Notices that a Samatha practitioner has a better chance than a Vipassana practitioner to qualify for a candidate to aspire for Buddhahood. Preachers need to think back about going with the short cut to Nibbana.
